AidNet Community Rules
AidNet is a community service for connecting people who need practical assistance with people, businesses, charities, and organizations that are able and willing to help.
Everyone using AidNet is expected to follow these basic rules.
Be Honest and Clear
Listings must accurately describe the assistance being requested or offered.
Do not post misleading information, impersonate another person or organization, or knowingly provide false information.
Keep Listings Current
Keep your listings accurate and up to date. Update or remove a listing when assistance is no longer needed or when goods or services are no longer available.
Goods and Services Only
AidNet is for practical goods and services. It is not a fundraising or payment platform.
The following are not permitted:
- Requests for money or financial assistance
- Financial donations
- Fundraising campaigns
- Crowdfunding or payment links
- Loans or investment offers
- Buying or selling goods or services through AidNet
- Commercial advertising unrelated to emergency assistance
Respect Other Users
Treat other users with respect. Do not post threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, deliberately misleading, or otherwise inappropriate content.
Respect the privacy and circumstances of people requesting or providing assistance.
Protect Personal Information
Do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in a public listing.
Do not publicly post private residential addresses, financial information, identification documents, or other information that could place you or another person at risk.
Use AidNet for Its Intended Purpose
AidNet is intended to connect people who need or can provide practical assistance during natural disasters and other emergencies.
Do not use AidNet for unrelated advertising, solicitation, spam, political or religious campaigning, or other activities unrelated to practical assistance.
No Illegal or Unsafe Listings
Do not request, offer, promote, or facilitate illegal goods, illegal services, fraudulent activities, or activities that could reasonably place others at risk.
Users Make Their Own Arrangements
AidNet provides the connection. Users communicate directly with each other and make their own arrangements.
AidNet does not assign assistance, coordinate volunteers or deliveries, verify individual needs, guarantee users or listings, or guarantee that assistance will be provided.
Reporting Problems
If you see a listing that appears fraudulent, inappropriate, misleading, or unsafe, please report it or contact AidNet.
AidNet may remove listings or suspend accounts that do not follow these rules.
AidNet exists to connect people, not to coordinate relief efforts.
